Malin Ståhl is a visual artist trained at Iceland Academy of the Arts, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Her work has been shown internationally in institutions such as Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Barbican Art Gallery and Camden arts centre in London and Centre of Contemporary Art Torun as well as in galleries and artist-run spaces.
With performance as a starting point I engage with the idea of landscape and the relationship between body and landscape. I observe the surroundings and the movement of the body within the landscape, its weight, balance and my breath. I observe minute detail in the landscape. These records are translated into performative explorations of stillness and movement.
